It is a Neuromodulator with the longest track record, its also the only one approved for a three of the major treatment area: Between the brows, forehead and Crow's Feet. All other areas are used Off-Label, which simply means the FDA has not researched and approved those areas for use.
It's Claim to fame is its spread ability making it ideal for large areas like the forehead. It also seems to set in a little faster and last a little longer than it's competitors making it favorite among seasoned users. The protein used in Dysport has a lower molecular weight than Botox therefore is able to diffuse out further (the proteins are there to stabilize the toxin and help with absorption)
Known as the "naked" toxin to some for its lack of stabilizing proteins, the biggest difference is that it does not need to be refrigerated like the other toxins do. It does take longer to kick in, almost 30 days and lasts about 3 months which might be ideal for a first time user who might be hesitant at first. The theory is that it has a less likely chance of developing antibodies but this is just theory and has no factual basis or studies as of yet.
This was the first toxin to be approved by the FDA for purely Cosmetic treatments. Its been on the market since 2019 there is some evidence that it sets in quicker and lasts longer, 3-5 months, than other toxins, however this is anecdotal and there is no conclusive research to this effect.
The newest of the Toxins it was approved in 2022 and put on the market in 2023 it is made with a small lab made protein called a peptide. It is said to bind to the nerve more tightly therefore giving longer lasting results. In trials submitted to the FDA it was shown to last 3-9 months which could be a game changer for seasoned users if these results hold up.
